ChatGPT is a general-purpose chatbot. Inki is a text editor built specifically for writing. AI generates and edits text directly inside the editor, so there is no copy-pasting. It also learns your writing style from your project content and removes AI-feel from generated text. The output sounds like you, not like a chatbot.

Which AI models can I use?

Inki supports multiple AI model families including Claude, Gemini, and GPT. Depending on the feature, you can choose from models such as Claude Opus 4.6, Sonnet 4.6, Haiku 4.5, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and GPT-5.4. Use a faster model for quick edits and a more capable one for complex writing.

Yes. Inki automatically learns your style and vocabulary from the content in your project. The more you write, the better its suggestions match your voice. You can fine-tune this per project with separate settings for content learning and style learning.

What file formats can I upload?

PDF (up to 1,000 pages), images, audio (up to 2 hours), video (up to 10 minutes), text files, and URLs. You can upload up to 5 files at a time, 512 MB total. Use them as reference material or as input for AI conversations.

Can I export my writing?

Yes. Export as HTML, Markdown, or PDF. You can also copy to your clipboard as Markdown or formatted HTML for pasting into Google Docs and other apps. Documents with images are packaged as a ZIP file.

The Inki interface is available in English and Japanese. The AI itself can generate and edit text in many other languages, so you can write content in French, Spanish, Chinese, and more.

What's the difference between the Free, Light, and Pro plans?

Free: 100 credits/month with core editor features. Light ($10/mo or $7/mo annually): 2,000 credits/month with proofreading and draft collaboration. Pro ($20/mo or $14/mo annually): 8,000 credits/month with advanced drafting, file ingestion, and priority access to new AI models. Annual billing saves over 30%.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards via Stripe. You can manage your payment method, view invoices, and update billing details from the Stripe billing portal in your account settings.

What happens when I upgrade my plan?

Upgrades take effect immediately. You only pay the prorated difference: the unused portion of your current plan is credited, and you are charged the new rate for the remaining period. For example, upgrading from Light to Pro mid-cycle means you pay just the difference for the rest of the month. Your usage history carries over within the same billing cycle.

What happens when I downgrade my plan or cancel?

Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep full access to your current plan until then. No refund is issued for the remaining period, but you are not charged early either. For example, if you cancel Pro mid-month, you keep Pro access until the end of that month.

Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?

Yes. Switching from monthly to annual takes effect immediately. The unused portion of your monthly plan is credited, and the full annual amount is charged. Annual billing saves over 30%. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the end of your current annual period.

How does the AI generation limit work with annual billing?

Accepted Answer

Even with annual billing, your AI credits reset every month. For example, Pro gives you 8,000 credits each month, not 96,000 upfront for the year. You always start each month with a fresh allowance.

Are refunds available?

Paid subscription fees are non-refundable as stated in our Terms of Service. We recommend trying the free plan first before upgrading.

Is my input used to train external AI models?

No. Your content is never used to train third-party AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.).

What about security?

We hold ISO/IEC 27001 certification for software development and operations. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and internal access is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Who owns the copyright of content generated in Inki?

You do. Feel free to use, edit, and publish your generated content for any purpose, including commercial use.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on servers in Japan (AWS Tokyo region), managed under our ISO 27001-certified security practices.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Account deletion also cancels any active subscription.
