Inki is an AI text editor for writing that doesn't read like AI. It helps you write and edit any kind of text, from blog posts and business documents to fiction. AI lives inside the editor, so you can generate and revise without copy-pasting between tools.

ChatGPT is a general-purpose chatbot. Inki is a text editor built specifically for writing. AI generates and edits text directly inside the editor, so there is no copy-pasting. It rewrites only what you select, keeps the flow and phrasing around it, and removes AI-feel from generated text. The output sounds like you, not like a chatbot.

Inki supports the latest models from Claude, GPT, Gemini, and Kimi. Depending on the feature, you can choose from GPT-5.6 Terra, Sonnet 5, Kimi K3, Kimi K2.6, and Gemini 3.6 Flash, or let Auto pick one for you. Opus 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol require the Pro plan or above. Use a faster model for quick edits and a more capable one for complex writing.

Yes. Inki rewrites only the part you select and keeps the flow and phrasing around it. It reads the whole document before suggesting changes, so edits stay consistent with the surrounding context.

PDF (up to 1,000 pages), images, audio (up to 2 hours), video (up to 10 minutes), text files, and URLs. You can upload up to 5 files at a time, 512 MB total. Use them as reference material or as input for AI conversations.

Yes. Export as HTML, Markdown, or PDF. You can also copy to your clipboard as Markdown or formatted HTML for pasting into Google Docs and other apps. Documents with images are packaged as a ZIP file.

The Inki interface is available in English and Japanese. The AI itself can generate and edit text in many other languages, so you can write content in French, Spanish, Chinese, and more.

Yes. Inki is available as an iOS app on the App Store. An Android app is planned; until then, you can use Inki from a mobile web browser.

Yes. You can start with the free plan right away, no credit card required. The free plan includes 100 monthly credits plus access to the AI editor and slash commands.

Free: 100 credits/month with core editor features. Pro ($20/mo or $14/mo annually): 8,000 credits/month with advanced drafting, file ingestion, and priority access to new AI models. Max ($200/mo): 100,000 credits/month with the same paid features as Pro and no annual plan. These prices apply to purchases made on the web. If you subscribe inside the iOS app, the price shown in the App Store applies.

For purchases made on the web, we accept credit cards via Stripe. You can manage your payment method, view invoices, and update billing details from the Stripe billing portal in your account settings. For purchases made inside the iOS app, the payment method registered to your Apple Account is charged and receipts are issued by Apple; manage them from Settings on your device. Buying additional credits is available on the web only.

Upgrading to a higher plan takes effect immediately, whether you start from a monthly or an annual plan. Switching your current plan from monthly to annual billing also takes effect immediately. A new billing period starts on the upgrade date, and the new plan credits are available right away. Any unused credits from your previous plan carry over separately as Plan carryover credits with an expiration date shown in your account; when you upgrade from an annual plan, the unused credits of the month in progress carry over. Credits that expire before your current credit reset are used before regular monthly credits. Downgrades, and switching from annual to monthly billing of the same plan, do not include carryover credits. If you subscribed inside the iOS app, plan changes follow the App Store: upgrades take effect immediately, downgrades take effect at the end of the current period, and Plan carryover credits are not granted.

Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep full access to your current plan until then. No refund is issued for the remaining period, but you are not charged early either. For example, if you cancel Pro mid-month, you keep Pro access until the end of that month. If you subscribed inside the iOS app, cancel from Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device; there too you keep access until the end of the current period.

Yes. Switching from a monthly plan to the annual version of the same plan, or to a higher annual plan, takes effect immediately, and the final amount is shown on Stripe before you confirm. Annual billing saves over 30%. Switching the same plan from annual to monthly billing takes effect at the end of your current annual period, while upgrading from an annual plan to a higher monthly plan takes effect immediately. Inside the iOS app, switching between monthly and annual billing is handled by the App Store under the same rules.

No. A subscription started on the web is managed on the web, and a subscription started in the iOS app is managed from Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device. A single account cannot hold a web subscription and an App Store subscription at the same time.

Even with annual billing, your AI credits reset every month. For example, Pro gives you 8,000 credits each month, not 96,000 upfront for the year. You always start each month with a fresh allowance.

Except where a refund is required by law, paid subscription fees are non-refundable as stated in our Terms of Service. If you purchased inside the iOS app, Apple decides whether a refund is granted — request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple issues a refund, the paid features tied to that purchase stop being available. We recommend trying the free plan first before upgrading.

No. Your content is never used to train third-party AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Fireworks AI, etc.).

We hold ISO/IEC 27001 certification for software development and operations. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and internal access is restricted to authorized personnel only.

You do. Feel free to use, edit, and publish your generated content for any purpose, including commercial use.

Your data is stored on servers in Japan (AWS Tokyo region), managed under our ISO 27001-certified security practices.

Yes. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. A subscription purchased on the web is cancelled at the same time. A subscription purchased through the App Store is not cancelled automatically, so cancel it from Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device — otherwise it keeps renewing.

No. Inki runs in your web browser — just create an account and start writing. On iOS you can also install the Inki app from the App Store.
