Release Notes

v0.19.1

Day-to-Day Usability and Reliability

Plan changes, AI chat, and feedback are now easier and safer to use.

Improvements

  • When you switch from a monthly plan to the same or a higher annual plan, your unused monthly credits now carry over
  • Send a quick note from the Feedback button in the sidebar. Use the existing support link when you need a reply
  • Get a Mac notification when AI finishes a reply. You can turn notifications and reply previews on or off in Settings
  • Reading older messages while AI replies no longer pulls you back down the chat. Use the Latest button when you are ready to return
  • Inki now uses the same updated droplet icon across the web app, Mac app, mobile app, and social link previews

Fixes

  • If a message fails input validation, the text stays in the Assistant field so you can fix it and send again
  • Recovery is more reliable after long replies and temporary connection drops, reducing missing final text and stale in-progress states
v0.19.0

Claude Sonnet 5 and GPT-5.6

Inki now supports more AI models, and more of them are available on every plan.

  • Claude Sonnet 5 is now available in the Assistant, AI editing, and text generation
  • OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna are now available. Terra and Luna work on every plan, while Sol requires Pro or higher
  • Sonnet, Haiku, Gemini, GPT-5.5, and several other models that previously required Pro are now available on every plan. Opus and GPT-5.6 Sol still require Pro or higher
  • Auto model selection and default models have not changed
v0.17.0

More Natural, Safer AI Editing

AI writing uses fewer canned phrases, and long drafts are edited in smaller, safer sections.

Improvements

  • The Assistant, text generation, and AI editing now share writing rules that vary sentence length and tone while avoiding common AI phrases
  • Selection-based AI editing now includes “Deslop.” It keeps the meaning while rewriting repetitive structures and stock phrases in more natural language
  • For notes over 10,000 characters, AI prioritizes the relevant headings and paragraphs to prevent unintended full-draft replacements

Removed

  • The old Skills picker in chat and custom Skill management page have been removed. Writing Topics are still available
  • The Casual and Business AI editing presets have been replaced by Deslop
v0.16.0

Reasoning Levels and Attachment Previews

Choose a reasoning level for supported models and preview attached files in chat.

Improvements

  • For supported models, choose a Small, Medium, Large, or Maximum reasoning level from the model menu. The setting applies to the next reply
  • Preview long text, images, PDFs, audio, and video by opening an attachment card in chat
  • Attachment cards now sit above the message field, so adding a file does not move the send button

Fixes

  • When a reply reaches its output limit, continue from the saved partial answer instead of starting over
  • Canceled generations now appear as stopped, not failed. If you run out of credits, the chat stays intact while you review your plan
v0.15.0

Let the Assistant Create Notes and Folders

The AI assistant can now create new notes and help organize them into folders.

  • Ask the Assistant to turn the current note or conversation into a separate draft. A link in chat opens the new note when it is ready
  • Ask the Assistant to create a folder or move a note into a folder
  • Choose a Writing Topic to give AI instructions that match the document, its purpose, and its readers
  • When a Writing Topic is added automatically to an empty note, a message appears in chat. You can undo it before sending the next message
v0.14.0

Share, Restore, and Edit Tables on Mobile

You can now share and restore notes, and edit tables, from Mobile Web.

  • Create a share link from your phone, copy it, send it through the system share menu, or revoke it from the same screen
  • Review earlier versions of a note and restore the one you need. Mobile Web now creates recovery points automatically while you edit
  • Insert a 3×3 table, move between cells, add or remove rows and columns, and delete a table from the toolbar above the keyboard
  • AI chat is easier to scan. Actions for editing, copying, rating, and restoring sent messages are also easier to find
v0.13.0

Inki for Mac

Inki is now available as a desktop app for Apple silicon Macs.

  • Download the latest Mac app directly from the “Download for Mac” button on the landing page
  • The app supports Apple silicon and macOS 11 or later. You can keep using Inki in your browser on other devices
v0.12.1

Higher-Quality PDF Export

PDF export now produces high-quality output with searchable, selectable text.

  • Exported PDFs are now vector-based instead of image-based, so you can search, select, and copy the text
  • Your editor display settings—font, text size, and line spacing—are reflected in the PDF
v0.12.0

Inki on Your Phone's Browser

Open Inki in your smartphone's browser and you'll now get a mobile-optimized experience.

  • Just open the usual URL in your smartphone or tablet browser to get a mobile-optimized interface—no app install required
  • Core features are available on mobile: reading and editing notes, chatting with the AI assistant, AI generation and editing, search, organizing with folders, Trash, settings, and purchasing or managing your plan
  • The toolbar above the keyboard gives you quick access to formatting and AI writing tools
  • Capture ideas on the go and pick up where you left off on your computer—everything stays in sync on the same account
v0.11.0

Review and Restore Assistant Edits

After the AI assistant edits your note, you can now review the changes and safely undo or redo them.

Improvements

  • After an assistant edit, click "Show changes" to review exactly what changed—rendered just like your note, without modifying the note itself
  • Undo and redo assistant edits safely with dedicated buttons. If your manual edits make a safe revert impossible, the buttons are hidden so nothing gets overwritten by mistake
  • Restore your note to a specific point by choosing "Restore to this point" or "Restore to before this run" from an assistant message
  • The start of a response is now also available as a restore point
  • Claude Opus 4.8 is now available as an AI model

Fixes

  • Conversations stuck in a "writing" state can now be stopped with the Cancel button
