Roundups of changes already available to users. Each date identifies a roundup, not when the article was published or an app update was released.

Retry generation and editing with your original instruction

Stop Inline Generation or AI Editing and return to your instruction without typing it again.

  • In a desktop browser or the Mac app from version 0.1.137, press Esc during Inline Generation or AI Editing to stop and return to your original instruction. During Inline Generation, you can also press Enter to keep writing on the line below while generation continues. Results stay unapplied until you choose Apply. See Inline Generation and AI Editing for the controls in each feature.

iOS free trial and safer editing in mobile browsers

Pro and Light monthly plans now offer a 7-day free trial on iOS. Mobile browsers keep unsent edits, and Checks starts on for new accounts and shows results while you write.

Improvements

  • In the iOS app from version 1.0.19, eligible Apple accounts can try Pro or Light on monthly billing free for 7 days. Both include up to 1,000 credits during the trial, then renew automatically at the displayed monthly price. See Plans & Pricing for details.
  • Checks is now on by default for new accounts in desktop browsers and the Mac app. Click a marked passage to see the reason and proposed edit. Use the check icon at the top of a note to turn it off.

Fixes

  • Mobile browsers now keep unsent edits on your device and send them when you reopen the note in the same browser and reconnect. You can also edit a loaded note when real-time sync can't connect. Avoid logging out or clearing browser data until your edits have been sent.
  • Fixed an issue where Checks wouldn't show results for completed paragraphs while you kept writing in a new note.

Data retention details and iOS fixes

The Privacy Policy now states data retention periods. The iOS app supports editing when real-time sync can't connect and fixes a problem with returning from an age check.

Fixes

  • In the iOS app from version 1.0.18, you can edit a note that has loaded even if real-time sync can't connect. Edits are saved on your device and sent when the connection returns. Avoid logging out or deleting the app until they've been sent.
  • Fixed an issue on iOS where closing the app during an age check could leave you stuck on the eligibility check screen. Update to version 1.0.18 or later.

Figure references and changes to usage conditions

Add captions and references to data blocks, confirm lightweight model use when credits run out, and check how logging out affects drafts. Older Mac app versions require an update.

Improvements

  • In desktop browsers and the Mac app, add captions to charts and tables in data blocks and refer to them by number using @ in your note. Captions are also included in HTML files, Google Docs, and copied content.
  • When Light, Pro, or Max credits run out, desktop browsers, the Mac app, and mobile browsers ask whether to continue with a lightweight model, including when using Auto. Your choice applies across conversations, AI Editing, and Inline Generation until credits become available again. Auto in version 1.0.15 of the iOS app keeps its existing behavior.
  • In desktop browsers and the Mac app, logging out or an expired session clears unsent AI Assistant drafts. Send any writing you want to keep or copy it somewhere else first. Saved notes and conversations aren't deleted.

Removed

  • Support has ended for Mac app version 0.1.124 and earlier. Update to 0.1.125 or later to keep using the app. Follow the update prompt or install the latest version from the download page.

Improvements to payments and note operations

Retry renewal payments after changing your card, confirm before leaving with operations still saving, and keep working during large Trash deletions.

  • If a web subscription renewal fails, use “Update payment method” in a desktop browser or the Mac app to change your card. When you return to Inki, it retries the payment immediately. Your monthly credits refill once payment succeeds.
  • If the card is declined or further verification is needed, the unpaid notice remains. Additional credit purchases are unavailable until the renewal is paid.
  • In a desktop browser, closing or reloading a tab while bulk note moves, moves to Trash, reordering, or similar operations are saving now prompts for confirmation.
  • Cancel and wait for the operation to finish so unsent operations can be saved. If you leave, unsent operations won’t be saved. This warning doesn’t appear when closing the Mac app’s window.
  • When emptying Trash or permanently deleting a folder, other saves in the same account no longer wait for every note in the deletion to finish.
  • If deletion fails partway through, notes already permanently deleted stay deleted. Reload the list to check what remains, then retry to delete the remaining items.

Help with a failed renewal payment

See why your monthly credits haven't refilled and open your payment settings to resolve a failed renewal.

  • If a renewal payment fails for a plan purchased on the web, a notice now appears in Settings > Plan and Usage, and when you reach a usage limit, in a desktop browser or the Mac app.
  • Select “Update payment method” to check or change your card details. Once the payment goes through, your monthly credits refill and the notice disappears.

Generated images and complete responses in the iOS app

View images created by AI Assistant in the chat, and see the full response when you return from a completion notification.

Improvements

  • When you ask AI Assistant to create an image, the result now appears in the chat.

Fixes

  • Fixed responses staying incomplete and marked as generating when you left the app during generation and returned from a completion notification.

Try AI features with step-by-step guidance

A new guide lets you try AI features on a computer, using a sample draft or your own note to rephrase words, rewrite text, and more.

  • After signing up on a computer, a sample draft based on what you write opens with cards that guide you through trying AI features.
  • In a desktop browser or the Mac app, open your profile menu and choose Help > Try AI to open the guide. It replaces the previous Tutorial.

View generated images in mobile browsers

Images you create with AI Assistant now appear in the chat when you use a mobile browser.

  • When you ask AI Assistant to create an image in a mobile browser, the result now appears in the chat. It remains visible when you reopen the conversation.

Check passages as you write

Find conflicting numbers and unclear wording through marks in your note, then make changes where you write.

In a desktop browser or the Mac app, use the round check icon at the top of a note to turn on Checks. Click a mark in the text to see the reason and proposed edit.

Apply a suggestion, answer a question to request AI Editing, or keep the original text. Use the arrow beside the check icon to adjust how much to flag.
