FAQ

Is my text stored or used to train AI?

We never store your text or use it to train AI. Your draft is sent to an AI model to produce the rewrite and then discarded. We keep only an anonymous one-way hash to catch abuse, never the text itself.

Is it free to use?

Yes. You can rewrite a set number of emails for free each day. When you reach the daily free limit, you can keep going in the Inki editor.

When do I need to continue in the editor?

You can rewrite emails and read the main suggestions right here. The full set of rewrites and edits to the whole email open in the Inki editor.

What kinds of messages work best?

Work email is the main use: requests, follow-ups, apologies, status updates, and customer replies. It also works on short Slack or Teams messages where the tone matters. Paste up to 800 characters at a time.

How does the rewrite work?

Inki reads your draft, finds wording that comes across as blunt, cold, or too casual, and rewrites it in a warmer, more professional tone. It offers a few candidate rewrites so you can pick the one that sounds like you.

Will it change what I meant to say?

It aims to keep your intent and facts the same and only change the tone and phrasing. Read the rewrite before you send, since a reworded line can shift the emphasis.

How is this different from the email tone checker?

Use this rewriter when you want the whole email rewritten in a polished tone. Use the email tone checker when you mainly want to know how a message will come across before you send it.

Can I pick the tone of the rewrite?

There is no tone setting. Each run returns rewrites in a professional, polite, and concise direction, and you choose the one that fits the reader. To aim at a specific register, keep editing in the Inki editor.

What happens if my draft is missing details?

The rewrite uses only the facts in your draft. When a stronger version needs specifics you did not include, it leaves a placeholder such as [date] instead of inventing them.

Can I rewrite an email someone sent me?

You can paste any English text, but the rewrites assume you are the sender. For a reply, paste your own draft rather than the message you received.
